This is the official music video for “The Ghosts” from the album Tremolo Moon by Ted Wulfers.
“I wanted to make a music video that brought tintype photographs to life to match the atmospheric energy of my song, ‘The Ghosts.’ I was told it could not be done by several photographers and filmmakers. Well… Erik Nielsen and I figured out a way and along with Jess De Long, my vision morphed into this ethereal and wonderfully beautiful short film. Not only is the technology groundbreaking but the tintype photos in the beginning of the video are of my actual 19th century ancestors. Pretty cool that 100+ years later, they are in a music video for music from my latest album.
I had a blast playing the guitars, bass and organ on this tune and recording it at my studio, 663 Sound with Rob Humphreys on drums and Carl Byron on accordion. Grammy Award Winner Malcolm Burn did an amazing job mixing it all together and fellow Grammy Award Winner Richard Dodd’s mastering topped it all off. We really created a vibe and I’m so proud that this video compliments that energy so well.
I’m releasing this video on a Full Moon but it is meaningful to me that the video be released on February 28 since February 28, 2002 is the day I caught the 14′ 663 lbs Pacific Blue Marlin off the coast of Hawaii that has been on display in Chicago’s Field Museum and is the namesake for my recording studio and music publishing company in honor of her memory.
